Oh Brother…..

What a day this has been. I’ve only just now gotten to the internet to find out about Bristol Palin being pregnant.

Yeah and ??

Oh – then this must mean that the rumors of Sarah being the grandparent of Trig (born this spring) must be mistaken which means that those leftie bloggers are getting some serious press right now because every story about why the McCain campaign has released information about Bristol is to quiet the rumors that those whackjob leftie bloggers are trying to spread. (the link is to Ace of Spades who has tons of examples)

Now – back to the story.
1- why is this huge news?? Because Sarah is a conservative Christian? And……?? For those of you who don’t actually know any Christians, just rumors of them, let me tell you… Christians are humans. And Jesus doesn’t short out the human teenage Christian hormone factory in order to make decisions on sex easy.

2-Bristol Palin is going to be married and have a baby. She’s 17 years old, which means she’ll officially be an adult sometime within the next year and in most states if you get married at 17 that makes you an adult automatically. Will life be a bit rough for her? Probably, but what the h do we know? We don’t know Levi or where he works. We know she plans on graduating, and we know she has the support of her/his families. This sort of thing happens allllllll the time people.
Life could very well be wonderful for her yet the news/blogs etc are acting like this is a tragic, horrific event.

The Palins are all ok with this so let it be good.

3-Why is Bristol being treated as a child in need of “shunning” because she’s choosing this route, yet had she chosen an abortion she would have been signing legal documents in triplicate as an adult for the procedure?

4-Dick Cheney’s kid had a child born out of wedlock and that didn’t seem to make him a bad parent. Is this where the sexism is going to be on display now? “Sarah – you’re a mother. You should be home taking care of these family affairs.
oh – don’t read me, go read

Thank you Barack Obama for putting some perspective out there from the left.

I have said before and I will repeat again: People’s families are off limits,” Obama said. “And people’s children are especially off-limits. This shouldn’t be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin’s performance as a governor or her potential performance as a vice president. So I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories. You know my mother had me when she was 18 and how a family deals with issues and teenage children, that shouldn’t be a topic of our politics.”

Thank you Barack Obama for pointing your campaign in the right direction.

“John McCain made a political calculation and has chosen a candidate who will mollify the right and shares his view that the economic policies of George W. Bush are working and should continue,” the memo read. “And that’s a risk America can’t afford.”

Did you see that…politics. Palin shares Bush’s politics and that’s why you shouldn’t vote for her (unless of course you agree with her), not because of her sex/motherly ways/pregnant teenage daughter.

The Anchoress has lots to say too.

From the NYTImes

At least two Democrats were at the event. [on women and heart disease] Julie Zimmerman, 27, who is a program adviser with an educational program called The Washington Center, said she found the news “shocking.”

She also said she hoped the Republicans would undergo “a fundamental re-evaluation of what they mean by family values” and also use the moment to teach young women about sex education.

It sounds to me as if this Democrat above has determined that premarital sex is antifamily values? Or is it only teenage premarital sex?
Or is it teenage premarital sex with faulty birth control?
Or is it teenage premarital sex with faulty birth control (or none) and no abortion?
Or is it teenage premarital sex with faulty birth control (or none) and no abortion and marriage to the baby’s father?
Or is it teenage premarital sex with faulty birth control (or none) and no abortion and marriage to the baby’s father and complete support from your family

that needs the re-evaluation?
