OMG…..Palin was effective as a mayor!!!! Front page news of the Washington Post today:
Palin’s Small Alaska Town Secured Big Federal Funds
My take: Based on looking at her progression of accomplishments, I would say that after securing the big federal funds for Wasilla, Palin was astounded at how easily this was accomplished. Her brain jumped from “What can I do for my town?” to “Why on earth should Topekans be paying for Wasilla’s youth shelter?” to “What can I do about this now?”
Frankly, I don’t find this a bad progression.
Ed Morrissey has a great post up based on Obama’s interview with Anderson Cooper. When asked about the comparison in Palin’s applicable experience to his Obama compares her budget/employees while mayor of Wasilla to his budget/employees while campaigning for President.
Not only does he completely dis her governorship with budget/employees that are way more than his campaign but he’s taking credit for being a campaign manager!
Keep it up you dumba** lefties…..more and more are sending in the money they can simply because you are so “foul”. (read the link to hear one very ticked off woman giving what for)
And then let’s throw this link in too. It links to NOW’s website where they have decreed that apparently the only “rights” that are important to women is the right to have an abortion.
Finally, as the chair of NOW’s Political Action Committee, I am frequently asked whether NOW supports women candidates just because they are women. This gives me an opportunity to once again answer that question with an emphatic ‘No.’ We recognize the importance of having women’s rights supporters at every level but, like Sarah Palin, not every woman supports women’s rights.
I support a woman’s right to keep the government out of their body, but abortion is not as simple as “should the man working in the office next door with the same schedule, the same training, the same schooling, the same accomplishments as me be paid more because he’s a man?” or “do I need to put up with a boss who keeps hitting on me in spite of my previous complaints?” or “do I have a right to own property or drive or vote or drink or fight in combat duty or be a fire fighter or ………….it goes on and on”
Abortion is about the mother and the baby. There ARE two sides to the discussion. And if you’re on that kid’s side does not mean you do not support women’s rights. Sheesh.
And be sure to read this link comparing the Obama experience with Palin’s.
