Instapundit has Lawrence Kaplan on the illiteracy of Congressional leaders concerning Iraq. Ain’t that the truth?
…………………..
Top Hamas Official sees the world in a totally different light than I do. You know the paradigm…..we’re all dead and they’re in charge because they’re on God’s side and we’re not. Uhhuh.

ROFL. The Economist essentially says what we all know to a certain extent only with an air of helplessness about it.
1-That al-Qaeda still exists and is all over the place and
2-recent successes haven’t changed that.
The tone of the article is funny though because the title is “Who is Winning”. It seems to me that
1-we still exist and are all over the place and
2-al-Qaeda’s successes have only made people more likely to fight against them.
Somehow the Economist seems to think that resiliancy equates to winning. (ps I should be hat tipping someone here but I forget who….sorry!)(pps. Nevermind, it was google news that had it linked.)

President Bush vetoes the funding bill and Harry Reid says:

“If the president thinks by vetoing this bill he will stop us from working to change the direction of the war in Iraq, he is mistaken,” Mr. Reid said. He added, “Now he has an obligation to explain his plan to responsibly end this war.”

Last I heard Mr. Reid thought the direction of the war was a “losing” one. Does this mean he’s going to try to win it?

In the meantime, why does this now give Bush an obligation to explain how to end it, when how to win it, IS how to end it and Bush is working on that. I’m so confused!

An interesting article on the Pet Food situation. Apparently while we’ve been importing wheat gluten from China the Kansans have been exporting theirs. Where is Michael Moore?
……………………
Robert J. Samuelson has a well thought out, sane, column on immigration.
